ESPN - The Philadelphia chapter of the NAACP is planning a massive demonstration to support Michael Vick at Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday.

Vick is expected to make his debut with the Eagles in a preseason game against the Jaguars.

"We believe Michael Vick has served his time, paid his debt to society and deserves a second chance and the animal rights groups want to hold him hostage for the rest of his life," J. Whyatt Mondesire, president of the Philadelphia chapter of the NAACP, told ESPN.com on Wednesday.

"We think that's patently unfair. It denies Michael Vick's basic civil rights, denies him his ability to make a living."

I am all for Vick and the second chance and the fact that he paid his dues/punishment more than anyone expected.

However my response this is that these idiots IMO think it's more of a black vs white thing.

Leave it alone. Let it die out. Doing stuff like this will only drag it out more.

I honestly hope they go down to the game to see that the Animal Activists aren't even present.

This way they will look like the idiots they are on this particular day.

End the naacp and how many people are no longer in powerful positions? Well paying powerful positions? Well paying powerful positions that get LOTS of publicity?

Yea the NAACP tends to stick their nose in to anything they think will get them donations. They've been this way for the longest time.. the biggest blow to their abilitys is that law makers stated that groups like that could no longer ask that defendants in a suite brought against them pay for their legal fee's.

So no to higher 10,000.00 and hour lawyers means the "non-profit group" must pay those fees themselves and not seek them in the claim..

Its why in the last 5 years you've seen the number of suits brought to court by groups like the NAACP drop by more than half.

Liesten I'm a die hard philly fan sorry Flyers first then Eagles but all this Vick stuff needs to chill out the media is turning it into a race issue. People from the phila area know 610WIP 950am all the radio stations are doing this. I think what Vick did was wrong reaaalllyy wrong but he served his time and we shall see. If he can establish some kind of accuracy I say keep him. As for the NAACP blame the radio and Tv for turning into a race issue I'm just waiting for and give it time for AL Sharpton to get involved lol. We shall see how good he is tonite GO BIRDS
