Any time of year. Shedding means growth, & without eating, they do not grow. You NEED to get this snake eating, or in the hands of someone who can....

I have a couple guesses. One possibility is he's a super cheapo and has his breeding stock consist entirely of what are supposed to be "pet only"...

Some snakes just have their own reasons for soaking anyway ;)...like never having seen a bowl big enough, or using it for a "hide", or even mild...
