Im fairly new to sexing snakes and was practicing popping my 1yr old male spider today when something weird happened. I should start off to say that i havent been able to successfully pop any of my snakes, so i am going to take the next step and have a breeder teach me at the next expo. i thought i was getting somewhere with it this time but then this thin white/brown pearly thing popped out instead of of his penes. once i saw the thing pop out i immediately stopped to grab it off him before it fell on the ground. it wasnt alive and wasnt attached to him. it is a little shorter than a grain of rice but super thin. its a little bit pliable. im scared that this might be a parasite, i have no idea where he would have caught it. the only other thing i can think of is maybe it has something to do with sperm? im not sure. if anyone has experienced anything like this any help would be much appreciated. i will be posting pictures of it shortly.
also a bit more info about the snake:
temps are between 85-90 from lamp heat (will be changing to tape soon)
was recently having trouble regulating the temps because they were moved down to our basement which is significantly colder in the summer.
the wonky temps were causing runny poops
i have 4 other balls in the same room that were experiencing the same from the temps.
once the temps were stabilized everybody poops bricks.
