    Belly heat an back heat are two completely different methods using heat tape.
    Belly only heats the surface area above it.
    Back heat runs at a higher temperature to heat the air in the rear of the tubs.
    Neither do good in cooler rooms.

    Exactly, I've learned this lesson. I have to keep my bedroom a little on the warm side to get proper ambient temps. Had I been more knowledgeable before purchasing racks I probably would have went for back heat for both since they seem to be better at maintaining ambient temps. Although I did score mine from craigslist for a killer deal. So I'm not too upset about it.

    Belly heat would be a better option if I had a dedicated snake room.
