    New babies!

Just got back from Hamburg yesterday and added three new critters to the collection.

    Male lesse, $200:

    Female bumblebee, $450:

(Don't worry, they're not being housed together. They were only together while I got their tubs ready)

    Female Irian Jaya carpet, $125:

My friend's Mexican black king, $35:

And my other friends' rescued snake food ducklings, $5 each:

I had a lot of fun, but I liked White Plains better. The only thing that sucks is White Plains doesn't allow hots or anything larger than a boa.

Isn't he? The photos don't really do him justice because his blushing is MUCH brighter in person. I also got lucky, cuz I was looking at every male lesser in the building before I found him, and he was so CHEAP. There was no way I was gonna pass him up.

    Re: New babies!

Duck tip: They should have a water bottle instead of a dish. Their down is like a sponge, and even if it's shallow they don't always have the sense to get out, which can result in hypothermia. Plus, there's nothing cuter than part-way filling a bathtub so the ducklings can touch on the shallow end and swim on the deep end, then dropping in a dozen guppies and watching them dive for them.

Nice new additions, that's a really nice looking bumblebee.

Thanks! They're not my ducks, but I will definitely pass that on to their owners.
