Will She Or Won't She? 32 Days and Still No Eggs.

So, a little background first. This is my black pastel het ghost's first year breeding. My fiancee and I were very excited to get her started since we're going for Super Black Pastels this year and we started breeding her at about 1600g. She bred three times and then stopped eating. She dropped down lower than 1500g so we stopped pairing her. Now she's about 1400 and change and we figured we'd just wait till next year. But, she continued to glow and swell and finally, we saw (we're like 80% sure) her ovulate. We can't quite remember if it was her or her sister. She shed about 15-16 days later, and since then we've been counting down the days. Her shed cycle was also really long, which we've seen in all but one of our egg laying females for their post ovys.

Her post shed behavior has been a little odd and not typical gravid female stuff. Though she is hot seeking pretty much constantly, she never adopted the perfect coil of most gravid females. She also doesn't look very peaked. She has given up her typical soaking custom and has foregone her almost daily bath since her "ovy." She's got major tail suck and she's round and swollen in that area. If you pick her up and look at her from the side she's all round on the bottom. But she's not lumped up at all. She's also been acting really aggressive, even more so than usual (she's a little cray cray). But no eggs?

At her size, I'm sure you see why we worry. It's been 32 days today and still nothing. What do you think? Eggs coming, just a little late? Or not in the slightest?

I'd consider taking pictures, but if she is in a late gravid stage I don't want to stress her out even more. Thoughts?

Only time will tell. Just keep an eye on her and try not to handle her unless It is necessary.

I had a Pastel girl that went 58 days post ovy shed and laid 7 fine eggs. Clutch is due in the next week.

Be patient and hang in there

32 days so long your females looks good and there is no signs of issue is nothing to worry about, when people talk about 30 days POS it is an average.

I have had females laying at 28 days POS as well as 52 days POS (that is 66 days between OVY and eggs)

Key word PATIENCE and keep an eye on her.

Of course I make the "Worried Mom" post and she chooses to lay this morning. She's working on egg #2 right now. These kids are so very silly.
