ok, consensus time. . . is it safe to say you both agree that my readings are good. . . or should I tweak them a little more? temp 72-82, humidity40-45 to 55-65 (depending on where I place the hygrometer). They seem comfortable, and I've noticed they've been using the gradient, and they like the mid zone, so I take that as them being satisfied. I think if they were unhappy, they would be chilling out on either the cold or warm side, depending on what they need right. And like I say. . . I have a good gradient for humidity too. Also, on a side note. . . It's FEEDING day!!! Our very first feeding. I'm soo excitied. I have a ?" though. Is it nescessary to feed at the exact same time on feeding day? By the way, thanks for all the help everyone. You guys are sooo great.

oh, and on a little side note, I love your photographs and drawings shelby. You take beautiful headstudies. I find them difficult, although I'm no professional . The subject always seems to want to move. . . I'm a huge fan of pencil and chracoal. . . dabble a bit myself. How much for an original like one of those balls? My girlfriend would love it.

I'd try to get temps up just a little.. I'd be more comfortable with 75-85 for my corns.

Yea between 80 to 85 is a good range.Now on your needing to feed them,it really does not matter what time you feed them.Now you might have a little head looking at you from time to time wondering "HEY WHERES OUR FOOD" lol.If by chance you miss a day it will not hurt them.I have forgotten to feed mine by a couple days before:eek: .I only did this because i have numerous snakes that eat on differant days lol.I will be looking for your next question

I've searched and search about data on "ideal" corn snake humidity level, too. Ended up with what most have already said here. Most seem drawn to gravitate toward the lower humidity levels. I can only ask, have you been to South Carlolina or Georgia in July or August where corn snakes thrive? Those places are next to satan's den when it come to heat and humidity. Yeh I know, it's hard to compare "nature" to "enclosed" environments, but the heat and humidity extremes in those ares are still hard to debate.

I keep mine around 50-55%, which is normal inside my house most of the time. I mist the enclosure down once a week and will spike to 65-70% for a day and then decline downward. I figure it simulates rain in the wild followed by some souther humidity, just like nature would do.
