What do you guys feed your ASF baby rats when

you separate them from Mom? I use wild bird mix and ground up Mazuri Rat food. I get good growth but so slooooowwwwwwww. I know they grow slow but any way to speed it up a little. Any other tasty ideas for the little weanlings?

Too many bird seeds is actually more harmful than good. I have seen it with my own eyes. They get fat, and greasy yellow stained fur.

I'd just keep on feeding them the lab block. My males are all up to size within a month (60-80 grams), females will always take a little longer.

I'm not saying no seeds, just give them the fattier ones less often like sunflower seeds or peanuts (yes I know its a legume, but you understand ). They do love millet, but I believe too many of the seeds is over indulging them and they will fill up on seeds rather than eating their nutritional lab block.

no seeds at all anymore for me. My ASF's eat only two ingredients their entire lives.... Their moms milk and Mazuri 6f. That is it.
