Am I the only one that is not missing the chat box during it's maintanence downtime? I like using it don't get me wrong but I do wish there was a way to hide it sometimes as depending on where I'm at it causes this site to lag terribly.

Anyone else have a love hate relationship with the chat box?

i have an idea that they could use theres a site called chatango that makes chat rooms and boxes that they could still moderate it refreshes by itself and lets you know whos in the room but i don't know if v bulletin supports it

It was never meant to run as a full bore chat program. It's more of a shout out type thing.

it's really easy to set up and all you'd have to do is post aa link to the chat and have ppl get accounts there

It's not a matter of convenience, but not a main focus of this site.

We do occassionally have chat nights, but it is not something that we want to implement full time currently.

We also host chats over on ReptileGeeks.com that is pretty fun and very easy to use.
