    Sani-Chips?

    OK, so now i know that pretty much all sand and repti-carpet shouldnt be used for my leps, what about this stuff? http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...2030043&Ne=2it doesnt look like it would cause impaction or anything like that.
    what do u guys think?

    I used sani-chips from Harlan for almost 5 years ... they were awesome ... never had a problem.

    I use unprinted newspaper now ... I like it much better because it's cheap, easy to store in bulk, and when you clean the cage, you know it's clean.

    What?! Repti-carpet shouldn't be used? Who told you that? IMO thats the BEST substrate to use for these guys. Leos do not do as well with a loose substrate as they could with something like carpet. The downside to newsprint is that it doesn't give them anything for them to get their claws into as they walk around. Repti-carpet is porous enough that it allows them to get their claws into it, but it doesn't use looped fibers that people talk about claws getting stuck into.
