    condensation on glass of T8

Ever since fall hit - i am seeing some condensation on the inside of my glass doors. The rest of the cage is dry.

I assume this is due to my tank temps being higher than my house temps which are at 70 degrees right now.

Is this condensation something to worry about??

    Thanks.

My house temps have been in the mid-high 60's and inside my T8 is 90F on the warm side and 81F on the cool side. I use a 6" crock style water bowl and the humidity is normally 50-60%. It drops in the winter and I add an additional water bowl.

The only time I ever saw any condensation on my glass was when my bp left a big mess of urine and poop under her hide right by the door. What are you using for substrate? Are you sure your in-tank temps are what you think they are?

Re: condensation on glass of T8

I'm using uline kraft paper. There was no mess from my snake. I've had this same setup for months and am just now starting to see some condensation on the glass.
I've always had some of the vent slits covered up but maybe i will need to open them back up.

Re: condensation on glass of T8

The condensation occurs because the glass temperature has reached or fallen below the dew point temperature inside the enclosure. You will have to find a way to either reduce the humidity inside the tank or increase the temperature of the glass. If you unblock the vents, as you suggested, this should help lower the humidity.
