If u freeze a rat that has parasites

Only reason i ask this question is there is people on clist that sell frozen feeder rats. If there breeding them and freezing them does that kill parasites? Or do u have to get it from a company that does special things to the rats to make sure there free from parasites?

Freezing for long periods of time (months) should kill parasites. But what you stated is the issue I've breed rats for 20 plus years and own snakes that are very expensive. If kept in spotless conditions and new rats are quarrentined parasites should not be a issue. As far as spending a ton on animals and caging then looking for a $1 jumbo rat well that's another story..

I not talking about cheap a $1 extra large rat probably does have parasites and every other infection. To sell for that they would probably be feed horribly and kept in Nash conditions which in return breeds disease.

For a small a 1.50 is right. They have nice stuff. If you see above I was saying people selling large for $1 I personally would never buy one.

I have sold retired breeders to regular customers as cheap as $2 each because I don't have many people around me that have animals eating jumbos and XXL.
I would rather sell them off cheap rather than throw them in the trash.
Never assume until you know the breeder.
