Assorted Kings with the new photo setup

Finally got my photography setup the way that I like it. Just thought I would share some of my kings. Photo setup consists of a piece of $3 sandstone from home depot under natural light on a table outside in the sun.

Gorgeous kings and great photos Daniel. What camera are you shooting with and how do you get them to stay so still for pictures?

The camera I used for these is a Canon Rebel 3Ti. The pictures I take with my phone are just about as good. The key is getting good lighting in both cases. The pictures were taken on a bright, overcast day outside...kinda gives everything that lightbox look.

....and getting them to sit still. Put a hide down on the surface you are going to take the picture on, let the snake go inside and settle down for around 15-30 seconds....then pull the hide off and take a few pictures before it decides to bolt...ha ha.

I love the grey banded, was thinking about getting one but I've heard they can be picky eaters, is your grey banded picky? My Arizona Mountain King snakes can be really picky at times, but my CA kings eat like hogs LOLOL.

Re: Assorted Kings with the new photo setup

I have a trio of Greybands and haven't had any issues with them eating over the last year. They readily eat ft or live mice. If you are concerned, I think you would do good to buy an older animal (6 months to yearling) that has been started off good by a reputable breeder. Don't buy someone else's problem or a 1-2 month old hatchling that hasn't been firmly established yet.
