    Gol Dang it...

I feel like crap today. I smooshed on of my mourning geckos in the door when I was closing it this morning, she was still alive when I left but definitely moving funny. Anyone have any advice? An NO, I'm not going to take a 3 inch gecko to the vet. It wouldn't do any good to have her seen by a dog and cat Dr.

If it helps, one morning while milking cows, I watched a young cat get smooshed under the hoof of a big milker. The cow stepped right down on the cat's middle.

    Cat was fine.
Fingers crossed for your gecko's recovery.

Just an update. She actually seems to be doing fine. She's been cruising around on the glass as if nothing had happened at all. I'll still need to keep an eye on her, she gravid. She's a mourning gecko, they're always gravid, but she's getting close to laying so I hope she doesn't have any problems.

I'm glad she seems to be okay, I really like these little gals, they're a lot of fun. I just have to be more diligent on keeping an eye on everyone when I'm in there mucking around.

Wow. Sorry to hear about the smoosh but glad she seems to be recovering. Hope it turns out to be nothing.

Owning animals that little actually scare me, I probably would crush them.

I have a friend who breeds them and they look fun just too tiny for me.

Had to look those up - cute! I adore geckos, but had the bad experience of being given lizards as a child when I asked for a gorgeous speckled kingsnake at a local pet store for my birthday. That pet store was awesome... magnificent mature speckled king, handled since birth, mellow as can be, the people were moving out of the country and couldn't keep him, and the pet store was rehoming him for them. $90 with setup. In his wisdom, my father and his fear of snakes got me two Jeweled Swifts instead. Pretty, but not at all what I wanted. Once I found someone to take them, I vowed never to get another lizard. I intensely dislike keeping insects to feed.

I hope that your girl is okay! I crushed a kitten in the door when I was about five, and it had to be put down. I still feel horribly guilty about that. Just didn't look, and when I swung the door shut behind me, it caught it right in the middle and broke its back. It sounds like your little girl is much more resilient - I'll be hoping for a full recovery.
