24/7 viewing with AP enclosure?
Hey guys,
Been looking around the caging forum and still cannot find a solid answer. I am looking into getting a AP terrarium and would like to have the option to have a 24/7 lighting so I can see my animals at night. Is there any sort of lighting I can get for this cage that wouldnt disrupt the natural rhythms of the snake?

Do you never sleep? LOL... just kidding. AP (though it's not on their site yet) does offer LED lighting for their enclosures. Red, Blue, Green, or white, I believe, if you want to order from them. If you want night-time viewing lights, I would suggest red LED's with a dimming capability so that you can turn them way down at night. There is plenty of controversy over snakes seeing colors, but it seems that dim reds may be the most unnoticeable to them.

Re: 24/7 viewing with AP enclosure?
I have a color changing led strip in both my t8s. The snakes seem to come out more in dim red light rather than dim blue light. I actually turn their lights off when it gets dark outside. Even though the cages are in the living room with the TV on and lights on, my big guy will come out of his hide and hangout in his cage. If I'm up at night I'll just switch the lights on in the living room quick to see if their out.

I have 2 T8s with the red led's and 2 with the blue led's. I definitely prefer the red ones for night viewing. My red IR heat bulbs stay on 24/7 on my carpets enclosures.
