    Question about Genetics

Ok I am starting to look into my pied project. I have a male pied and want albino pieds. I have a chance to get an albino 100% het pied. The pairing is from albino pied X albino pied. My only question is, is it possible to get a het from both visuals or would all be albino pieds? I am not 100% on genetics...to me it is somewhat confusing but I am trying to read and learn as much as I can. TIA

albino pied x albino pied can only create albino pieds, so someone is mistaken.

It doesn't make sense from what I'm reading. The animal you're looking at is an Albino 100%het pied. And it looks as though the pairing was from a visual albino pied to a visual albino pied. If that was truly the pairing, all offspring should visual albino pied. I'd check with the breeder to confirm. My bet is there was a typo or misunderstanding and there was hets in that pairing somewhere. Its worth a second look though

Same Morph paired x to same mroph = (equals) outcome

    Visual x visual = 100% visual
    Visual x het = 50% het and 50% visual
    het x het = 25% visual and 75% 66% possible het

    in this case...

Visual Albino Pied x Visual Albino pied = 100% visual Albino Pied
Visual Albino Pied x 100% double het Albino Pied= 50% het Albino Pied and 50% visual Albino Pied
100% het Albino Pied x 100% het Albino Pied = 25% visual pied and 75% 66% possible het Albino Pied

    Re: Question about Genetics

Ok my mistake I read it wrong. Albino Pied X Albino Het Pied. I asked for a pic of the Pied Markers and He said you can`t see them on Albinos. Is that right? I know a marker isn't a guarantee. He will give me papers on the genetics also.

I have never seen markers on albinos, but whether that is true or not, I not sure. None of my hets have markers.

I don't have any albinos... no. I am just saying out of all the hets I have, not one has markers and basically (IMO) markers are a fluke or coincidence in pattern that make people think that it is a marker. We all have opinons. I have 1.1 het clown, 0.1 spider het pied, 1.0 gargoyle het albino, 0.1 het red albino, 0.1 het albino, 0.1 sugar het hypo and 1.0 fire woma het orange ghost and not one of them have markers.

Markers, papers are completelty irrelevant what is, is whether or not you are buying from a reputable breeder?

Paperwork are only as good as the breeder is.

So is the breeder reputable, did you check his rep, did you ask around?
