    Record Keeping

Just something I've been curious about, how do you guys keep track of the feeding and sheds and everything? I have a notebook I write it all down in, but for those with a bigger collection of snakes, I'd imagine a different system is more efficient!

    Re: Record Keeping

I use iherp.com and love it so far. I use it to track both my ball python and my leopard gecko. It is a simple interface and even has a built in chat board of sorts that you can ask questions on and meet other keepers. It is very nice having a concise means of scanning past information. I can see at a glance when the last tank cleaning was, when the last shed was and how long the cycle took. I log the weight of the prey items he takes each week and also his weight once he finishes digesting. The primary reason I feel it is important to keep records (other than peace of mind of course) is that if you happen to have to go to a vet they are going to want a health history and you will want it to be as accurate as possible. Paper logs work, but they are more time consuming and could be more difficult to scan through for relevant information when needed.
