    Orange urate?

So my lavender albino retic, Harry, pooped today, he is about 4' and 710 grams empty. He pooped today and the urates were orange. I am puzzled, none of my snakes have ever pooped orange poop and urates, any ideas?

Normal. More urea and less uric acid. The urea can turn it more of a yellow to orange color as it is in higher concentrations. When it is in lower concentrations (typically speaking more hydrated) it turns more white due to less urea and more uric acid (white). If I recall correctly that is.

    Smile Re: Orange urate?

Looks absolutely normal. More urates and less stool. Looks more dark yellow than orange though. Does the animal have a water dish to soak in? That is another way to hydrate. Good luck. Stay in peace and not pieces. A.C.

    Re: Orange urate?

He does not fit in his dish no. He sure drinks it though. I will see what the next poop looks like and maybe get him in something bigger with a larger dish.

He has a 75 gallon but is in the rack until i move in a couple weeks.
