    CD Constrictors 2014-2015 Breeding Thread

Just as the last clutch of eggs from 2013-2014 pairings is almost finished cooking in the incubator, the temps in FL are dropping into the 50's overnight. "Early" females already have good sized follicles at this point, so we decided to "officially" start the season off this week.

A few "off season" females have been pairing for the last few months and should ovulate by December.

1.0 Nuke Pin x 0.1 Pastel 10F2 (AKA- "Big Brown"). 7 eggs last December and has put on a whopping 1000g over last years pre-lay weight. Sitting at 2800g now

1.0 Nuke Pin x Pastel 11F1 (AKA "Crazy Beech"). 7 eggs in January from retained sperm. She held her eggs for 78 days after ovulation and they were all kinked upon cutting. Don't know what the issue was, but we are hoping it was just an incubation problem, as her eggs were the first clutch in our new incubator last season. Here's to our first good clutch of quads from her!!

1.0 Nuke Pin x Norm 08F1. Picked up on a trade from JGB Reptiles she sits at 3300+g and did not go last season for JGB. Previously paired there with a Banana, Pastel Calico and Pastel Leopard. Good sperm in her no matter what she does this season!!

1.0 Albino Enchi x Albino 08F1. 8 eggs last season with nice follicles already at 350g over last years pre-lay weight. Double sired last season to the Albino Enchi and Banana. She gave us 0.3 Albino Enchis, 2.2 Albinos and 0.1 100% Het Albino (guessing the Banana got a say in that). We would have paired her to our 1.0 Enchi Pied had she not locked with the Banana last season.... poor choice on our part putting the Banana in there, but at that point we had no visible locks with the Albino Enchi. Locked here right away on their first pairing this season overnight.

1.0 Enchi Pied x Albino Spider 12F1. First year girl, never been paired. Sitting at 1450g empty. Looking for some DH Albino Pied morphs to add to the DH Albino Pied project. Small follicles, but ready to pair here. The Enchi Pied was pulled the next morning as he went pink into shed.

1.0 Pastel Clown x Clown 12F1. This female absorbed last year to a proven Banana and proven Butter 100% Het Clown, and has follicles already. Sitting at 2290g she has nice follicles already. Created a stir in the shop with all the males last night when she started tail wagging and scenting the tub for this Pastel Clown.

More pairings to come this week as some of our males shed out. Waiting on some new females to finish QT in a few weeks, and some VPI Axanthics on the way from Tim Bailey

    KillerBlast x Spider (proven)
Enchi Pied x Albino Spider (virgin)
Enchi Pied x Het Pied (proven)
    Enchi Pied x Mojave (virgin)
Enchi Pied x Super Pastel (proven to a Sugar Fire)
VPI Axanthic Pinstripe x Firefly (virgin)
VPI Axanthic Pinstripe x Pied (virgin)
    VPI Axanthic x Pastel (virgin)
Enchi Fire x Champagne (absorbed to the same pairing last season)
Enchi Fire x Lemonblast (absorbed to the same pairing last year)
    Pastel Clown x Clown
Pastel Clown x Fire 100% Het Clown (proven to our Butter Het)
    Pastel Clown x Het Clown
Pastel Clown x Pastel 100% Het Clown

More females to figure out what to do with, but this is our "hit list" for females with follicles now.

Some of our early holdback males are nearly ready to start pairing in a few months. Sugar Firefly, Banana Pinstripe, Banana Black Pastel are all sitting at the 400g range.... just a few more meals and some time and they will be ready

I think we have concluded our Banana dinker is actually a Banana Black Pastel

Picking up the pace with the recent cold front

Enchi Pied x Normal (a nice proven reduced, banded, Enchi "looking" Normal). His first observed lock was with this girl this morning. The fresh shed from our Nuclear Pinstripe probably didn't hurt his efforts She has put on 800g over last years pre-lay weight and a 5 egg clutch to a Banana that gave us 3.1 Bananas. Looking for some 0.1 Enchi Het Pieds

Dabbling with some VPI Axanthics this season. Gonna try for a few DH pairings with the visual male we picked up, but we started the season with a straight up Axanthic pairing. We also have a 0.1 VPI 100% Het Axanthic at 3000g+ from Tim Bailey that we plan on taking a swing with a 1.0 VPI Enchi 100% Het Axanthic. A proven 10 egg layer, hopefully the odds are in our favor with a nice clutch.

First pairing for this 1.0 Axanthic Pinstripe x 0.1 Axanthic last night fresh out of QT. His first pairing ever.... picked up as a 2011 back-up from Tim Bailey @ 800g. Paired with this proven Axanthic girl and they were locked up this morning

We are planning on pairing the Ax Pin with our virgin 2012 FireFly and next in line. We were going to pull the trigger on a 1.0 VPI Fire Axanthic proven breeder, but we are going to wait a season or two to try and produce our own. We feel Fire and Pastel are "must haves" with Axanthics.

We can't take credit for this lock, but the pair is now in our hands to work with. Proven pair from Dave Jenkins (Royal Hijinx). They made some nice babies last year for him, and we expect nothing different this season. Another new recessive gene added to the collection. Dave paired them up once waiting on the weather to cooperate before shipping them out to us.

1.0 Mojave Hypo x 0.1 Black Pewter 100% Het Hypo. The Mojave Hypo will likely see our 2012 virgin Pied PH Hypo to try to prove her out. DH Hypo Pieds at worst, and we are working towards Mojave Pieds anyways- the Hypo is now just an added bonus

I'm in love with the Nuclear Pin. All of these look like they'll be fantastic parings. Can't wait to see the kids!
