    Macro shots from the backyard

My fiancé bought me a new lens for my birthday! I'm still getting used to it, but I'm super excited to learn.

WOW whats the name of your fly? I've always wanted a fly! I can't quite tell what species, where'd you get him?

Jk nice shots. You should photoshop a burger into the hands of the praying mantis on the first picture. It looks like he is protecting something from someone.
Im just throwing around my opinions. Im trying to give as much help as I've received on this website

A couple grasshoppers I found today, and a dandelion. I have no idea what that orange and black thing is. Anyone? Quick google search gave me a ladybug larva, but I have no idea, to be honest.

Isn't that little orange and black thing a stink bug?

No its not a stink bug, that is a ladybug larva. We used to catch them and keep them until they become ladybugs. Like what some people do with caterpillars.
