So I bought a new scorpion today but its skill I think is broken? Half way down and on the sides

Is this natural? or is he sick or something? Should I take him back?
Im just throwing around my opinions. Im trying to give as much help as I've received on this website

After a couple googles I found that scorpions shed. I honestly did not know this. That could be what is happening maybe.

    Yay, you got a scorpion!

It's really hard to see with that lighting, but it might just be fat. Really, it happens!

Is what you're talking about like this:

Yes only its ALOT less and on top its only coming out of one section. Yours is kinda split between the shell sections. Mine is all out of one spot and on the sides. Im guessing thats an emperor? I was going to get en emperor but all the pet stores in colorado seem to be out of them. I managed to find a red clawed scorpion. They guy said they are more aggressive. Maybe one day Ill have the balls to hold it. I heard their sting only feels like a bee sting but………Ive never been stung by a bee XD

It's normal. The one I had in the past would get this on his sides after a meal. Yours looks pretty well fed. Shedding could be a factor but they don't shed all that often and you will know when it happens

Oops, not my photo, but yeah, totally normal! Where did you get him from? We got our emperor from Jurassic Pets in Thorton/Denver. What part of CO do you live in?

Edit: I said something stupid about red claws being the same as emperors because that was I was told by a pet store, and then I looked it up and realized you were probably talking about Tanzanian Red Claws. Cool find!

I live in the Brighton area. The Thornton Jurassic pets is the second place i checked. I prefer Scales N Tails couple miles west of there off 120th. but neither Jurassic Pets or Scales N Tails had scorpions so i had to go all the way to Wadsworth in Lakewood. I found the red clawed ones in the Scales N Tails over there.
