UTH Breakdown!!
This morning I discovered that Boston's UTH was not working. Was not producing any heat!! Thankfully it wasn't the other way around. We have a Herpstat for backup in case of those situations. Anyway after a long boring conversation with the manufacture, they are sending me a replacement. Problem is I'm looking at 2 weeks delivery!! Will he be okay with only ambient heat for that long?!?!

I seem it wen I ordered the Herpstat but never purchased one as we prematurely bought this one from a local pet store. Clearly not the best decision lol. Maybe I should order some, but I'm still waiting delivery. Will he be okay for a bit?

My BP is 4 years old and has never had an UTH, so long as your temperatures are good he should be fine

If the temps aren't dropping too low it should be fine. You probably won't be able to get the 90 basking spot with no UTH but that will be fine of its only for the couple weeks. It would be probably best if they stay above 80. If you need to, even adding a 60 or 100 watt incandescent bulb during the day could help with heat. If the temps stay lower you should probably not feed during that time either. Wouldn't want it to try and digest without the proper heat.

Do you have any heat source or do you just use normal room temp?

Solution: keep ambient temps above 75 F and do not feed. He will be perfectly fine.

I current use one of those red infrared heat lamps and my temp is holding at 83. My thermometer probe which was sitting under the bedding for his basking spot which use to me 90 is now 77 Humidity is 55.

Reason: Just realized that you were asking the other guy this question, not me.

We just fed him Sunday that passed. Haven't disturbed him since. Do u think this UTH failure will unpack that last feeding/digestive process?
