    Is it just me?

Or does everyone else feel at peace when tending to their snakes? I have 3 ball pythons and I feel at peace when I come home from a crappy day at work and take care of them.

I love spending time with my snakes. It is very relaxing.
Why keep a snake? Why keep any animal? Because you enjoy the animal, find something beautiful and fascinating about it, and it fits seamlessly into your lifestyle.

    Not just you.

2 of my 3 cages are shown here. I love sitting down here with a beer and relaxing after a hard day's work.

I don't keep snakes to be a farmer or a busy breeder. I truly enjoy a small collection that I can study, enjoy and spoil.

Nice caging and an enjoyable room make my day!

Yes. Them and my Chameleons. The Chams really react to me because they expect food or water. The geckos are so individual I can't even explain. They stress me out with their eating habits more then the BPs because I can see their tail getting smaller and I wont have a clue as to why they will stop eating. Besides a few picky eaters though they are fun and full of personality. I like the snakes and I have enough now to where I can give them ample relax time while picking at least one up a day. I could easily see myself tending to a few racks of snakes. The whole process is nice. I like cleaning their tubs and annotating all their habits and care stuff. I like bringing out one of my 3 favorites while I read old articles and interviews by breeders or do research. I'll wonder what their offspring will look like and check out pics of others. I've been thinking about it a lot lately. I want to try approaching the hobby from a different angle like going out and making people want pet ball pythons (and buying from me)instead of a hamster or something. Not sure how I'll be able to contribute but I think Brian has a hit with that SnakeBytes show as far as getting people interested.

No, it's not just you. I've also felt the same when mucking stalls at my horse's stable.

I like cleaning cages, filling water bowls, recording feedings and weights. I sometimes wish I had more snakes just so I had more to do with them. I also like cleaning horse stalls and horse tack when I have the time.

I feel exactly the same. Nothing is more therapeutic to me than snake time. I would rather tend to my babies then be out doing most the stuff my friends try and get me to do.
