    Blue Buffalo Misleading Customers?

    http://dogingtonpost.com/blue-buffal...ding-consumers

We buy this stuff for our dogs and it's pretty expensive. Not pleased to hear it may contain the same crap as cheap foods...

Honestly having looked into how pet food is made, there's no telling what's in any kibbles. Nobody's watching the coop, there's been several studies on various limited ingredient kibbles which have been shown to contain wrong proteins so this is nothing new in the world of kibble. Byproducts aren't "bad" but you have no idea if it's chicken heads, or what it is or in what amounts. Just like corn isn't any worse than sweet potatoes or peas or any of the "grain free" fillers that is the current fad. None of that vegetable matter is suitable for carnivores but it's necessary to make kibble stay together. A food that's 30% legumes isn't any healthier for a dog than one that's 30% corn unless there's an allergy to it. The nonstop recalls and scary items in kibble sourced from China is why I now feed raw.

It was food made by people trying to make money. Not that it's a horrible food, but it's mid grade, advertising to be a high quality one. And charging a ton for it.

    Re: Blue Buffalo Misleading Customers?

I used to exclusively feed only Blue Buffalo to my dog until I heard about a raw diet. My dog only eats a raw diet now. My dog is a beagle/boxer mix mutt female and she had all kinds of allergies and now that I have switched her over to raw, problem solved. My poor dog turned her nose at the Blue Buffalo food half the time anyways so I was totally wasting my money. Raw is a bit expensive but it also means my dog is happy and healthier, and that is all that matters to me.

    Blue Buffalo Misleading Customers?

I feed my 10 week old pug puppy Blue Buffalo. I am kind of ticked off I have been putting by-products in my puppys body while she is growing.

I wouldn't jump ship just yet. This is a competing company trash talking a competitor... I'm not saying that there isn't any truth to it, but I certainly wouldn't take the claim at face value without further evidence to back it up.

I've considered that, but they're (Purina) raising a really big stink about this. It's all over the news. I would think they would have ample proof before they starting causing this much commotion. I guess we'll have to wait and see how it plays out. If Purina is wrong, I can see a BIG lawsuit coming back their way....

I never fed blue... Tried a sample once and didn't like their "lifesource bits" concept or the long list of veggies they included (I was shopping for a cat though). If you are looking at grain frees, taste of the wild is pretty good and less costly. I use it in a dry mix for my cat along with wet food.
