Should I use hide boxes in racks?

I just bought a 3 tier rack from C Serpents, and was wondering if I should still utilize hide boxes in them?

I think I have similar racks from Reptile Basics. 3 tubs, 37 quarts each.

Depends on the size of the snake.

My hatchlings I definitely put two hides in there with them. One at each end.

As the snakes get progressively bigger, I start making adjustments. Bigger hides, one hide, etc. My two adult girls who are breeding this year, I sometimes have one hide, sometimes none. Sometimes I put the hide in with them after a clean, sometimes I take it out. They seem pretty happy either way.
It is okay to use pine bedding for snakes.
It is okay to feed live food to snakes.

You can if you want. It's personal preference.
If you have a picky eater, you might want to use a hide. If the snakes are pretty good eaters, then they probably don't need it.
The rack itself acts like a giant hide on its own.

And yes, if they are smaller snakes, it's probably a good idea to give them hides to reduce stress of an open enclosure.

Yeah, they are all under 5 months old. I'll get them some hides.

I give all of mine hides except the breeders girls. If they use them cool and if not oh well.

Re: Should I use hide boxes in racks?

depends on size of snake in proportion to tub. as prey animals balls spend much of their time hiding in small spaces, the hides will give them a tight secure place to feel safe, if the space is too roomy they will feel uncomfortable. I'd recommend putting in a hide and let the snake decide, many of mine like to sit on top or behind their hides, and so might yours.
