You can never tell what you'll see
Had a first today. Had to take a snake to the vert this morning. She struck and constricted her rat last night just fine. But today I noticed her upper lip on the right side of her face was swollen. Upon further inspection I see that it wasn't swollen but rather when she bit her rat her upper lip got caught in the cross fire. She had bitten all the way through her upper lip and her teeth were sticking out of the lip. With a helps had or two from my Vet we were abut to get the lip pulled off the teeth and not break any. A little triple antibiotic and a shot of antibiotic to keep anything funny from getting in the mouth. the things you see when you breed snakes.

Glad she's okay as well and yea that sucks. Never heard of that one, but I did have a snake hit strike a mouse hopper one day and miss the hopper and nail it's own tail.

My friend Kara once told me that "the more you have the more you'll see" and this has gotten to be so true ,which is why it's so improtant to be aware of your animals and whats normal for them.

I've actually had happen something similar happen with my male Lesser in the past, not with teeth protruding through the upperlip (ouch!), but he managed to get his bottom teeth hooked around outside of the upperlip and couldn't open his mouth. It looked a lot worse than it actually was, thought he had broken his jaw at first, but I was able to him undone myself with a plastic toothpick in the end!
So glad it wasn't anything this bad though and I hope you guys have a speedy recovery. ^^
