    Work Trip

I work for a Danish wind energy company called Vestas. I maintain wind turbines in Alberta, Canada. Vestas' North American headquarters are in Portland, Oregon. This is the third time I have been sent here since starting with the company in January of 2012. All technicians are sent here for training. Here are a few pictures from random trips I have taken on weekends while here. Gotta do something to pass the time..

This above is a picture of Multnomah Falls. Upper falls are 542 ft and lower falls are 69 ft tall. There was approximately 1 mile hike up to the top.

This is a picture of me at the platform at the top of the falls. This was taken in January '12, hence the toque (I am Canadian after all )

A picture of the Pacific Coast taken south of Astoria, Oregon.

This is a picture of the fabled 'Spruce Goose'. An airplane built by Howard Hughes almost exclusively of birch.

One of the first stealth planes from the '60's. More than enough space and air museums in the Pacific Northwest.

A picture of Mount Saint Helens from the north. We were told to go to the north side of the mountain as the south side doesn't have a good view of the crater. Glad we listened.

    Thanks for looking.

Thanks Mike. It is a fairly interesting job. I especially like troubleshooting when things break and trying to fix them. Here is a picture I took one day at work during my 'lunch break'. This is from the top of one of the turbines I maintain, looking west over numerous other turbines in the wind park I work at. The Rocky Mountains in the background were especially beautiful on this day

The wind park I maintain consists of 126 V47-660kW machines all about 10 years old, 23 V90-3MW machines that are 3 years old, and another 23 V90-3MW machines that are 2 years old.
