    Awesome DIY Rack Plans

I am sure there have been many other posts about DIY racks but I came across this one and thought I should share it in case someone is interested and the previous posts are too buried to find

    http://www.americanmadeexotics.com/41-quart-rack.html

I am thinking about modifying these slightly as I really don't think I want 9 tubs although from what I read a snake owner could easily end up with that many before they even realize it lol. I would also change it up so that the drawers slide in/out from the side instead of lengthwise. Any thoughts one the pros/cons of that? I know I see most racks having the tubs in lengthways.

Someone already posted that, I'm assuming who ever owns that website. I used those plans to make my rack, my home depot didn't have the precute shelves the size of a 41 quart tub. i decided to go with 5 tubs + a storage space, now i'm gonna add another shelf cause i don't need the storage area. It is a great design and is working great for me!

I was thinking of 3...maybe 4 at the most. I am not super crafty when it comes to carpentry but I would like to also make the bottom shelf or two into drawers for storage. So I would make mine about 5-6 shelves high.

maybe you should not cut the 1x4's. Like, that way if you wanted to add on to it you could. if i make another it'll be 9 tubs most likely. I used a sheet of plywood as the back. I think it makes it look nicer.
