Well my bearded now is about 9 inches long. He is in a 20long right now, and is growing like a weed. I picked him up a PVC enclosure at Repticon that is 4' long X2' wide X 18" tall. I want to move him into his bigger enclosure, but would he be freaked out by the space? I'm going to make his new enclosure identical to his original (same basking rock, logs, etc.). Can i move him in there now? Or wait a little longer?
I would not think that to be too large for an adult. I think a smaller one might be ok but would suggest smaller or dividing the large one. I would worry that crickets and other insects might escape nd hide before the baby had a chance to catch them. I would divide it myself maybe in half or 1/3...
Yeah it is a larger cage. I think gallon wise its close to a 65 gallon. Bit I got a great deal on it, and it comes with lighting and everything, so i couldn't pass it up
What should I try to divide it with? Just a piece of cardboard or something?
He'll be fine in the larger enclosure but you may want to consider feeding him crickets and other easily escapable prey in a separate container. I have a 8-9'' dragon in 48x24x18 enclosure now and he absolutely loves the space. I normally dislike feeding in a separate enclosure but find it's necessary so the small crickets can't hide.

Okay great, I have talked to people on bearded-dragon.org and they said that their beardies love the extra space. I have a very large tupper-ware like container that I will most likely feed him in. I've also heard that dubia roaches are great beause you an put them in a container, and they can't limb out. This way your beardie can eat whenever it feels like it. Does anybody do this?

Oh yeah and my calculations were off originally, a 48X24X18 cages is equivalent to 90 gallons say whaaaaat?? lol that's a lot of space for him, looks like I'm gonna have to do some decorating
