So I've been breeding rodents in a room within my garage since mid fall. It's a 12ftx10ft insulated room within my garage. It has it's own ceiling that is insulated apart from the garage itself. Now that it's getting hot in Ohio my garage is starting to bake. Luckily the rodent room isn't as bad as my garage but it's only time before it gets there. I'm looking for ways to cool down the rodent room without being too expensive (window AC unit is a electrcity hog). I've got a box fan in there circulating air and an exhaust fan but it's still warmer than I would prefer.... Any suggestions on a cost efficient way to keep the temps down? Any input is definitely appreciated and if you need any more information please let me know. Thanks.

hmm, I cant really think of anything but a window a/c.
Anything else would be a pain and not as efficient I would think.

The new window ACs are not electric hogs anymore. I'm running two and it's not that bad at all.
Other than running fans in strategic areas, it's hard to lower temps. You could try a ceiling fan, or try to circulate air from near the floor so the lower temps(on the floor) reach the hotter areas(up high nearer the ceiling).
You can also run a window FAN. Blow out during the hot day, blow IN during the night. Those fans are cheap and I managed an extra couple months before needing to set up Window ACs.
