Advice on heating a wooden enclosure.
I am in the beginning stages of designing a wooden enclosure for my BP. I will be using birch plywood. I am wondering if I will be able to use a UTH if I use the 1/2inch for the base? I will be using a 40w RBI panel for ambient heat. The only reason I am doing the custom cage myself is because my friend owns a custom cabinet shop and will help me for free as long as I buy the wood
get the right size RHP and you won't need anything else.

Ok do you think the 40w will work for a 4'x2'x1'1/2"

The 40 Watt will be perfect.

Re: Advice on heating a wooden enclosure.
Ok that is what I will go with then. Should I use anything else like basking light? Sorry for all the questions, this is my first snake and I want to make sure everything is right for him.
I would start with just the RHP and see what you get. If needed then get another heat source.

Re: Advice on heating a wooden enclosure.
I am pretty sure he will be fine. My 40w RBI heat panels work at about 27% in a 65-70f room and keep the temps just fine
