I won an auction at a past NARBC for a lot of snakes. 2 Honduran Milksnakes, Ghost Cornsnake, and what I thought was a Normal Cornsnake. Looking back I can't remember if her tub was marked just "cornsnake" or if it was unmarked.
I've had 2 people now tell me that she looks like some sort of hybrid. She's the least enthusiastic eater of my colubrids, although she does eat almost every time. She definitely doesn't "fight" or flail around with the ft prey like my corns, kings, and milks do. She's pretty chill...not flighty at all.
What's ya'lls take on her?
These were taken in Dec. when she was around 26g.
And this was taken just last night, she's around 63g now.
not certain or sure what to tell you. that is a very odd looking snake. I think they others maybe on to something with the thought of a hybrid. corn/milk of sorts but like i said i am not sure.
I tend not to be a big colubrid fan, but that one is just awesome looking! i would hang on to that!
I'm definitely no expert, but I would say that is almost certainly a hybrid Corn/Milk. Not sure on the parentage, but it doesn't look full Corn snake to me. If I'm not mistaken (and I could very well be, anyone feel free to correct me...) these type of hybrids are called Jungle Corns. Whatever it is, it is very lovely and a great pickup. The colors are coming out nicely. Congrats!
Though the colors may suggest it, the head and neck do not look to be proportionate to a corn snake. Most corns I have seen regardless of morph have a slightly longer head and a pretty definite reduction behind the jaws back to the neck. Not as prominant as a BP perhaps, but more than this appears to have. I almost think this may be some type of kingsnake hybrid. Also the banding would be more in line with a kingsnake pattern then the saddle blotches of a corn snake
My vote would be a hybrid as well. When I scrolled down to the first image, my first thought was: "Nope, not a Corn."
It's an interesting combo to say the least. Jungle Corns can be hard to identify the original parent's genes. This one is definitely a tricky one! But it's gorgeous. If you ever need to get rid of her...

Ask me about my crabs...
4.5.1 C. Clypeatus (hermit crabs), 1.0 Crested Gecko, 1.0 Leopard gecko, 0.1 Gargoyle Gecko, 0.1 Butter Corn, 0.1. Feline
I actually had her listed for sale but I've pulled her until I find out what exactly I have (mods-if I'm not allowed to say that here, please remove this part).
My guess would have to be Thayeri/ Corn Hybrid. That last pic just screams Thayeri to me
I would agree with this as well. The banding seems more consistent with some of the lighter lines of Thayeri's than that of corn snakes. But Thayeri's typically have a much more muted background to their body. This one is so vibrant. I really like it, actually.
A local couple did some Jungle Corn pairings recently. Not to say they'd have the answer, but I know they were definitely getting into some hybrid pairings. Perhaps they could at least offer an opinion?
I can PM you their information if you don't recieve what you're looking for here
