my trip to the houston zoo... DUP very Pic Heavy

Ok so yesterday I took a trip to the houston zoo. I have been wanting to go for a while but because of other stuff I had to do I went in the morning these are some pics I took. They had an awsome reptile house. I didn’t get to see everything but I can get in free anytime so I will be going back to finish my tour of the zoo. I am thinking of applying for a job there… I think it would be awsome to work in the reptile house.

    Aquarium

    Sea horses

Some type of jelly fish yes they where swimming up side down

    Mammals

The lion was actually interacting with people on the other side of the glass it was cool

The cougers… intresting story… and this really happens. The night befor Universty of Houstons graduation they put the class rings in the set up to be guarded by the cougers. The Couger is the mascot for U of H…

And the reason why I went was the reptile house there seemed be a lot of co habitatating like a burmes in with a retic, a False water in with a emarld tree boa, but I got some great habitat ideas I would love to do sit ups for

    Leapord Tortis

    False Water Cobra

    Emarld Tree Boa

Lace Monitor he kept moving so I couldn’t get a clear shot on him but he was pretty

    Retic with the burmese

I believed they said the burmese was around 20 feet. I wanted to go in and play wih him but they wouldn’t let me

The cage for the burm and retic I want this cage for a large snake if I ever get one

My faverite hot a copper head

Komodo dragon. I tried asking one of the zoo keepers if I could take him home…. No dice on that one niether. Reminds me of an over grown sav monitor

False Water Cobras are awesome my friend has one called Bean ^_^ They hood up kinda like cobras, but they don't really sit up in a vertical position when they do it and I think they can do it (flatten themselves) further on down their body too Mega cute I think they're sliiiiiightly venomous? But don't quote me on that Pretty sure they have fangs towards the rear of their mouths...

A false water cobra is venomous rear fanged colubrid their venom is not strong enough to kill but can cause severe pain and swelling they just have to chew on you to invenomate they are normal docile. Their whole bodies do flatten out when they are threatned
