Help Negotiating
Hello everyone,
First off would like to introduce myself to everyone. I recently purchased a fantastic male killer bee that I'll post pics of in a different thread but need some advice on the female I have my eyes on for him.
The seller is asking $1600 shipped. I'm thinking of offering $1400 with me meeting the seller at an upcoming show they plan on attending for pick up (no shipping). I don't want to offer to little and cause insult. What do you guys think?
Thank you in advance

Is the female also a killer bee? A weight will go a long way in helping determine the value. And if you have a picture, those are always nice.

300 grams and $1600... better be a heck of a snake, there are plenty of morphs you can get an adult female for that price that will blend well with a kbee.

Also the seller was recommended through this forum and is reputable.

Hard to say what she's worth with out photos, but I understand the situation probably won't allow you to post any.
If the original selling price was $1600, then $1400 is probably too low. Offer $1475 and offer to pick up at the show. See where the breeder want's to go from there.

What's she worth to you? I've always picked my snakes and then made offers. I've picked up snakes for much less than anyone would ever expect. I'm straight to the point, no BS, instant payment and easy to deal with. I say this while I'm negotiating. It's a lot easier to negotiate if you're going to pay cash instantly. There's nothing wrong with aiming on the low side. The seller might counter you and they might not. If they counter, you meet somewhere inbetween and offer again. I've saved upwards of $500-600 on a snake by doing this. I also never offer on a snake I'm not set on buying if they do meet me in the middle somewhere. I never stretch my budget so much that I have no room for flex in my offer. Just a few things I've picked up negotiating snakes Good luck!
Regards,
B

PS. There is nothing wrong with asking for help. If the seller strolls on by then they should be happy you have enough interest in the snake to make an offer. People always try to be so secretive in this hobby Best of luck!
