    Using butchers paper for substrate?

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about butchers paper or basically the white paper your meat is wrapped in. I'm able to get several new unused rolls for a fairly decent price so that is why I ask.

    Things I'm concerned about-
-Chemicals in the paper to retain freshness
-The bleach they use to whiten the paper
-Anything else that could harm the animals

I've used butchers paper, works great. The stuff I used was brown though. Should be fine

Gotta love the perks of working at a grocery store! Thanks Aaron, I didn't think anything would be wrong with it. Can't ever be too paranoid when it comes to the life of something else though!

Butchers paper is similar to the Kraft paper I use, with the exception of the color. It sould work out fine for you. If it's the kind with a smooth side, just put the smooth side down.

I use unbleached packing paper from lowes or home depot.

Slim, it is the kind with the smooth side. I think I'm just gunna go for it, I've been using unprinted newspaper but that's fairly unreliable in my area. With this paper I can get it any day of the week for less than twenty dollars a roll. Each roll is roughly 18in. wide and about a million feat long. lol

    Thanks guys!
