    How to accelerate feeding?

My new Pewter was on a 2 week maintain feeding cycle for the whole winter, basically. This is because she had a potential buyer who requested it until shipping weather was right. She's a June 2011 and currently weighs 150g.

I think he had her eating a fuzzy/hopper every 14 days.

Can I start giving her hoppers every 3 days? At 150g she should be fine to take down 25g small adult mice as that's still only 16% of her weight. Can I give her THOSE every 3 days?

Is there a method to slowly ramping up a feeding cycle, or if the hungry snake takes the food can I assume she knows what she's doing and won't make herself sick?

Probably a silly question, but it'd be sillier not to double check.

I would say to feed every 5 days. You don't want to push too much. They need time to digest so you will want slightly small prey if you are going to feed that often. Also switch to rats. In the long run it will save you money and put size on at a quicker pace.

    Re: How to accelerate feeding?

Since she's only been eating every two weeks on a hopper (which just makes me ill, BTW), I would start by bumping her to one adult mouse every 7 days for a month or so. At that point, you can increase to every 4-5 days if it isn't causing her to skip meals. With her being hungry, right now would be a good time to try to switch to weanling/pup rats, if you so desire.

With my little ones I do a 3day/4day schedule.
3rd day is a little smaller than normal and then a regular meal 4 days later.

There shouldnt be as long as the meal is not oversized and she is eating.
