    Upgrading thermostats

So I will be very shortly purchasing new thermostats, maybe as soon as tomorrow, and I'm looking for some feedback on these 3 in particular...

    HerpStat Pro

    HerpStat 4

    VE-300X2

I like the Herpstats because each has 4 independent probes to monitor temps, and doing it that way would save over buying 2 of the VE(or Herpstat 2). Anyone use any of these 3 thermostats? I'd love to hear some feedback. Thanks.

I use the Herpstat 4 and love it, They are really high quality, their software/menu system is easy to use and they have tons of features to mess around with.

I've never used any of the three, but I really like my VE-200. I think Aaron is a HerpStat guy. He should have some good words.

EDIT: Aaron was typing good words at the same time I said Aaron would be typing good words...Damn his super computer

    Re: Upgrading thermostats

I'd say the Herpstat 4 is probably the way I'm leaning, because(and correct me if I'm wrong) it acts as 4 independent thermostats and it would cut back on the cost of buying 2-4 of anything else.

That is correct, 4 probes and 4 outlets. Way cheaper than buying 2-4 of anything else.

    Re: Upgrading thermostats

I've got a VE-300X2 and so far its worked very well. I'd buy another. The herpstat4 does have four independent temperature controls if your not using any of the other features (lighting, huminity etc.).

    Re: Upgrading thermostats

I've been using a 4 for a few years, and it's holding up great. I like the flexibility the four probes/outlets on one controller gives me. I can use all four, or only one. I balked a little at first over the price, but it's turned out to be a very solid investment.

    Sorry, haven't tried the others.

HerpStat-4 all the way! We have been using it for about a year now and absolutely love it. The initial cost was alittle high, but in the end it is less expensive than purchasing 2 or 4 of another t-stat. Also, not having to worry about purchasing a new t-stat every time you add a new rack is great!

Edit: One more thing, the customer service at Spyder Robotics is absolutely top notch!
