    Russo Combos???

anyone know where i can find pics and info for (het)Russo combos?

I recently acquired my first Russo...but i havent been able to find any info/pics of Russo combos besides Russo/Black pastel...which, IMO was not the best combo at all. Lol.

Any info and pictures would be greatly appreciated.

    Re: Russo Combos???

That's a great question, I've wondered why more ppl don't work with them myself. I think they just aren't as dramatic base morph as the other BEL complex mutations, so ppl don't give them much attention as the others. However, after seeing how they can make some amazing designer morphs when matched to the right genes, I think we will soon be seeing them a bit more. I would love to find a Russo Spider aka "Flame Bee" female after I saw NERD's Opal Diamond Spider.

I agree. I love mojave/lesser/butters but theres something about the Russo that,i personally feel, stands out more. I dont see them available often locally, so when i seen this 535g male i had to have him. Im surely going to breed him with my normal girls if hes ready. But when the guy i got him from suggested scrap the bumblebee project and shoot for the flamebee, that sounded like something id like to do since my female spider is close to size. However,i still cant seem to find any pics of the flamebee or any other combos really.

Im thinking ill probably have to email Mr. Russo or NERD to see what info they can give me.

I think the flame bee would be a great idea, as they aren't that common. John Berry's book has a great comparison photo of a flame bee next to a spider. There is def a noticeable difference, with the Flame Bee being lighter than the normal spider. I think the Pastel Russo Spider would be a nice combo, and I'm sure it's been done by now, but I haven't seen it.
If I were you, I'd def go for the Flame Bee. Bumble Bees are beautiful, but the market has been flooded with them.

I just heard back from NERD...they were suprisingly very unhelpful. Their reply to my email was exactly this...

    " They basically look normal....

i have the stuff but there is no real look to them!~"

So,im assuming the only thing Russos are good at is making clean BELs...Which is ok,but still slightly disappointing.

Bump? Any news on this? I've got a female Vin Russo and I'd like to know what else I can do with her besides BELs.

    Thanks!

    Cool Re: Russo Combos???

I have a Black Pastel/Spider/Russo or Russo Black Bee and it looks wicked the color goes from the belly ~ pinkish red to orange to a black dorsal stripe produced by Craig Montoya. I sold my Black Bee to buy him which from the belly up is white to tan to a black dorsal. The Russo gene added colors I haven't seen on a ball before, it's a sweet snake. He is in shed now, I will take a new photo and post a link when he comes out of shed.
Here is a link to a photo of it as a baby on my iherp page
