    Very active ball python

    Hi guys my 300 grams pastel male ball python has been very very active for the pass 2 weeks day and night is that normal thanks for any info one more thing I had my ball python since he was a baby he still hiss at my every time i get him out but dose not bite me why dose he keep hissing at me.

    That most likely means he is stressed. What does your set-up look like? The constant moving around also means he is stressed. Take a look at our caresheet and make your set-up identical to what our caresheet describes. That will most likely solve any issues you are having.

    Found out he wanted more food he's getting a 4 to 5 inch mouse once a week I been trying find bigger food items he's eating live btw

    Yea at 300 grams he should be on at least 2-3 mice or small rats IMO

    Every snake has a different personality. Yeah he might be hungry or stressed, but some snakes are just more aggressive than others. My male pastel has hissed at me from day one. He is not hungry and has a perfect living environment. He has never struck at me, and as I have spent more time handling him, he gets better on a daily basis. It just takes TIME.

    Generally an active ball python means something isn't right with the tank. The first thing I would check are the temps and then the hides. The hides need to be pretty snug.
