Albino shedding question
I bought an albino ball python at the Daytona Reptile Expo in August this year. He hasn't shed yet since i brought him home. He eats a live hopper every week and has eaten almost every week. His temperature is around 88-89. Im not exactly sure what his humidity is but i keep the water dish closer to the warm side of the enclosure. Is this normal or should i be worried?

Re: Albino shedding question
what does your snake way? you're probably feeding him too small of a meal. Hopper mice are for hatchlings.

Re: Albino shedding question
Most young balls can take an adult mouse or rat pup no problem, possibly more depending on size of the snake.

When i feed him hoppers it leaves a noticeable lump in his belly.

Do you have a pic of him? If he's underweight then pretty much anything going to leave a lump in him.

Move him up to a rat pup once a week. Also invest in a digital scale to monitor his weight so you can easily know what size prey is adequate as he grows. Walmart is a good choice. They have decent ones for under $20.00. You should stay with prey that is 10% to 15% of your BP's weight.

That's why I was asking how old he was. Because I had an idea that you may be feeding him to small a meal. Young ball pythons should shed more often. My young BP's shed once a month and are growing great. I feed them a rat a little larger than a adult mouse once a week.
