    effects of weather????

will a thunderstorm effect the humidity level inside the house or even inside a snake's terrarium?
i've been monitoring/adjusting my girl's humidity cuz she's in shed and i checked it earlier and it was 82% then 3 hrs later it was reading "HI" which i think means it's 90%+ but theres no condensation.
i know the rule for humidity is 50-60% normally & 60-70% during shed but i've let it get 80% - "HI" & my girl has had good complete sheds. also the higher i let it go (with no condensation) the longer it takes to drop below 60%, which = less intrusions in the terrarium spraying bark.
normally the 2 water dishes keep the humidity between 50-60% all by themselves and i really only have to wet the towel on the screen and spray the bark occasionally.
ok so back to my original Q...it makes sense that the weather would effect the humidity just like summer heat/winter cold will effect temps but i just thought i'd double check to see if it's true or not.

The weather can effect ur humidity so if ur worried take it out for the night and put it back with fresh water tomoro. It won't be a problem unless its soaking wet in there
A room full of empty racks and thermostats that have been unplugged.

no no no it's never soaking wet in the terrarium. i know better then that.
i was just curious but i'm not really worried cuz we've had good sheds with the higher humidity so...all is well. i was just kinda surprised to see it spike is all. thx.

With storms I do get pretty high humidity readings, but as far as I've read and heard, that level of humidity isn't a problem on its own unless it causes surfaces to get damp. But with unusually high humidity do watch out for condensation..

    Re: effects of weather????

I definitely have higher humidity in the Spring/Summer months with the humidity increase in the air. Storms etc I believe will also contribute to the change.

    Re: effects of weather????

Farther up than that..We border Maryland and W.Virginia to the south. Ohio to the west, NJ and Delaware to the East and New York to the North. No big deal. Takes about 10 hours to get to the lower end of N. Carolina, so SC is most likely 12-13 hours away.
