The kalabash Reduction gene
Just wondering what people know about this gene. There is actually not much about it online and apparently has been around for a while. Seen a few pics and i think its a really cool pattern. Any idea why its not very prominent?
0.1 Woma Pinstripe "Gemma"
0.1 Ultramel "Lyla"
0.1 Bamboo Woma "Tara"
0.1 Rio(Super Arroyo) "Wendy"
1.0 Clown "Happy"
1.0 Pastel Butter Ghost "Unser"
1.0 KillerBee Yellow Belly "Half-Sack"

While it is pretty cool, there are quite a few similar genes like hgw and woma that hit the scene way before it. I would guess someone would need to produce a cool super to cause some excitement.

Just looked it up and wow, what a beautiful animal! I love how it works with other reduction genes.
I did a little research and it turns out the KRG is a dominant trait, so no supers are going to be produced. I do think it is an interesting gene though, and would love to see some more experimentation with it.

could be a marketing issue

From the history given in the description on W of BP, I wonder if there have been enough pairing to prove there is no super form.
The Enchi KRG Spider is a beautiful snake. I'm sure there is a head turner combo yet to be discovered. Heck, the black dots on the Pieds would be enough for some people to be interested in that gene.
For me, medium white pied is better because it shows off the other genes in the snake. But for those who own pieds as pets and like high white, that looks like a sure fire way to get attractive high white pieds.
I'm not a fan of the name though, as people like to reduce things, the name goes from Kalabash Reduction Gene to KRG really fast. On my tubs I would write KRG Pastel Het Piebald instead of the long form. Thus the name becomes KRG instead of Kalabash... I would even say "KRG" instead of Kalabash. Just my two cents.

Re: The kalabash Reduction gene
I have one Female Kalabash. I think it will do something similar to what the leopard gene does but it also has some similarities to the Blade gene. I'm curious to see how it will work with the clown gene and I'm also going to see what some of the BEL complex stuff does to it.

Re: The kalabash Reduction gene
I love what the Kalabash gene does when bred into other genes. I just hatched out my first Kalabash pieds and Kalabash 100% pieds this year. I hatched out a Mochi Kalabash 100% het pied and a Enchi Kalabash 100% het pied last year. The first picture is the Female Mochi Kalabash and the other is the Enchi Kalabash. . ,,
