What to get next: albino or a bee?

My collection is in my sig (cinny and pinstripe were my last two editions)

My female spider has a wound and hasn't eaten in two months so unless the vet can do something major to help she's probably not breeding this season.

I figure that both add a lot of value and good combo potential and would probably be ready to breed this season if I can find one 150g or over.

I've been leaning towards a nice high contrast albino male (the bee would be male as well) as well as some hets if I can get a decent deal.

Well think of it this way, with the collection you have now if you were to get an albino male all you would produce this year would be x 100% albinos. Now that's not a bad thing, keep x 100% albino male(s) and create some wicked combos next season.

On the other hand, a Bee would give you faster results, but IMO a little less rewarding then working with a recessive.

It's really up to you what you want to create. In my opinion, given what you have now, I would get an albino male and start working with them recessives. You're not far from making your own bumble bee, either.

    Good Luck!

Actually just bought two new snakes! An awesome looking high contrast 400g albino male and a 175g 100% het albino female.

I'll post picks of the guy when I get him in!

Recessive is your way to the future !

    Albinos all the way
Bees doesn't look that good when they are older and everyone is jumping on that train, so plenty will be available in the future, and even good mature breeder male for not soo much. Can't say the same for the albino !

Get an albino female if you can. Unless you really need a breeder.

Yeah I was really looking for a breeder to go this year. And the male will go well with my spider (hypo or albino het spiders or an attemptat bees if she does get up to weight).

Also with a good get already at 400g I should be ready to breed those next year and keep any female albinos I'm lucky enough to get.

Another question for down the line: how is the market for 50% het albino 100% het ghosts. That's another project I could work on.

And I def agree with everyone on the bee train. Next year if I can't make any myself I should be able to get a breeder male for a lot cheaper. Seems that some people are getting out of albinos but they still seem a popular morph. Not sure if I'm totally right but that just seems the way things are headed.

Re: What to get next: albino or a bee?

Ok so I paid 500 shipped for the albino and the het and I have the opportunity to get two more 100% het females that are 125g for another $175 and I am torn on doing it. I ca. Afford it but it will pretty much tap me out until I get my student work job(which should start in only a week or two).

So should I get the extra het females? I'm leaning towards yes as females are always good to have and will let me produce a lot more hets and albinos and other combos if I buy het albino males in the future.

It won't put me in the poor house but it will tap my BP budget for a few months.

    Input is desperatly needed.

Don't do it. Save the money and buy an albino female when you can. I have a het female thats a bit over 1000 grams but am actively looking for an albino girl. Selling 50% hets and sometimes even 100% het albinos is not the easiest thing to do.
Why not go for a combo like a spider het bino or something like that when the funds are available.

I have a lot of projects that can benefit from the male, and I wanted a breeder for this season. I'll produce my own female albinos in time. For an albino spider it'd be much easier and cheaper to buy a male spider het for albino than
vice versa. This way I also have a good
number of females to add to my collection (only have four or
5 at the moment normal phenotype ones). I'm pleases with what I got and the price I paid. I am aiming for combos (esp spider albino) and I think since in have a female spider already to pair with the male albino)

Anyone else have input on the male vs female issue? Even though it's
moot since I've already bought the male albino and
the 3 female hets. Just curious.
