Without getting into all the issues you are going to have heating and maintaining the right humidity....which I am curious as to how you are going to do that???

I am not aware of a pre-made cover that large so you will need to make one. Use a wood frame (1x2's should be fine - with several cross beams for support) and then attach 1/4" cage wire to cover it.

As for clips you pry won't need them (unless you give your Ball some way to reach to the top of a 4 foot tall cage) just use some weights to hold it down. If clips become necessary use spring cage clips (have a hook on one end with a spring to attach to the frame)

A 125 is WAY too big for a adult ball python let alone a hatchling.http://www.ball-pythons.net/modules....warticle&id=59

Try something like this for caging:

Whoooooooooa! 125g for a baby?!??? Your baby's not gonna wanna eat with that big of a tank. He'll be too stressed out. 125g is even too big for an adult ball python. Balls like TIGHT spaces/homes. Boas or burms need bigger cages, but not balls.

As for a lid, get some 1x1's or 1x2's and some screen door mesh, and then make one....just make sure you seal the edges to prevent any pet from getting poked or cut by the raw edges.

I'd suggest getting a shoebox sized tub for your baby BP, or if you want a tank, a 10g will work for him VERY well until he's over 600g. My BP babies did well in the 10g w/two identical hides, a water bowl and the proper heat/cool sides, for over a year. Pi$$y's and Precious' even had a limb to climb on. :)

As many have said, our tank is much too large for a ball python of any size. Being new to this stuff is fine, but you'll want to stay away from burms. If you insist on keeping your BP in this tank and need a screen top, check this out:

This would be a good site for anyone looking for all size screens and aquariums. I think they also do custom stuff too. Good luck.

BTW...the 125 would be a great fish tank...or if not that, a really nice beardie enclosure.;)
