I think Big Cheese was out until Tuesday is what I heard. I was afraid of this sort of thing is why I just started breeding my own rats and ASFs. I didn't ever want to have to depend on someone else to have what I need in stock, was just too scary to think of, AND it saves a LOT of money.

With that being said, there are several big rodent suppliers, just have to check out classifieds online like kingsnake and fauna for rodent suppliers and give them a call. As to local, unfortunately I don't know a whole lot of local rodent suppliers especially in Houston area.

Hit up local members and buy off them. Or look on craigslist for feeder breeders.

Yeah, I just started my own colony. I got tired of not finding what I want and sizes, plus going to get them etc. If you are in a bind you can go over to S&S, I'm sure they will have some feeders.

I drove an hour to NERD for feeders the other day...

OUT OF RATS - NO RATS FOR SALE

    woooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

to be fair, it's in the middle of their hatching season. It just sucked to drive all that way to figure that out. Fortunately, even though the nearest place is NERD, there is another herp store only 5 minutes further. All was not lost.

GL and craigslist or local snake enthusiasts are definitely good options.

how was your dealing with them? i've seen alot of negative things about them and the time i went was the last.

also a guy i got my bumble bee told me there was a store out in magnolia that has rat feeders don't know if you heard of it before.

All is not lost! You can feed smaller meals to your snakes until you get the appropriate size or a snake can miss a meal and it will not be catastrophic.

I've never had a problem with them as far as service. It is not my first choice, that's why I'm starting my own colony. The one in Magnolia is called pets a plenty. They have cool stuff, but to me its really dirty, and they never have the right size rats, but they have some cool hots!

Pet City has nice feeders! I've used them before when I had stubborn corn snakes who needed a live meal or two. Currently, I'm buying rats from Reptile Select. They have feeders (assuming you don't order a boatload at once) and they can pre-kill and freeze for you as well! I recently ordered about 10 frozen pinks for my baby ball. The rats are in good health!

Edit: Reptile Select is off of 290 and Jones. Not sure what part of Houston you're from.
