Atlanta GA reptile vet in need
I don't know if I am posting this in the right forum, but I am in need of info on a reptile vet in the area of Atlanta GA. I am north of Atlanta and right now I have a ball python with a probable case of egg binding. At this point she probably needs some attention. I had a vet up here, but stopped going to him due to questionable treatment of some snakes. If anyone has any vet info, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Greg

Thanks for the info. I found a vet and will be taking her to him momentarily. Also found a couple recommendations from others. I am going to take her to this guy first, but I am going to be one of "those" patients, and grill him on if he has done egg binding before. If not, I am outta there.

Where did you end up going? We have been very happy with For Pets Sake -- Dr. Hutchinson.

They also have a female vet, but she more or less does the birds and is not as good with the reptiles. So if you go there ask for Dr. Hutchinson, he's been giving us great advice and is super nice!

I ended up taking her to two different vets. One I got an appt with while I awaited recommendations, the other is "loving hands" over in Alpharetta. I also arranged (but didn't complete) a phone consultation with a VA vet whom Justin Kobylka recommended.
I have been to For Pet's sake and seen Hutchinson before for my boas. I have gotten supplies from them a bunch too. Other than him being much further from me, I had an experience there which I don't want to get into, but ultimately I felt more comfortable with these other two places I went to. Though I would go to him again and wouldn't recommend against him, so please don't read that last line as such.
The verdict from the vets were the same and it isn't the greatest result. She would require surgery. Dr. Martinez of Loving Hands gave a hormones shot and drained the eggs trying to get them to go on there own, basically trying to avoid surgery. We are now torn as we cannot afford surgery, but don't want to put her down as she is one of my first ball pythons from when I first got into balls, so we are waiting to decide where to go from here.
    Thanks for the info!!!!!!!! :)
