As you can see from my signature, I have several bps but this cute little pastel is what started it all. I thought it would be cool to share his little story, because he was an unintentional purchase xD
(Leopold II, a month ago after a shed)

I've always been an animal person, and while I've never considered owning a snake, I was never afraid of them. In fact, my dad had a small normal when I was a little kid. I would read bed time stories to it, and when he would slither away, I would pick him up and put him back down in place xD Anyways, I worked at a Petsmart about a year ago and became pretty good friends with one of the managers who had an extensive reptile collection (corns, balls, burmese, all boas oh my!) and so I started doing more research into snakes. I went to a local expo and fell in love with Candy cane corn snakes, but I had just come to look. A couple of months later, I planned on going to an expo in Tulsa to pick up a 1.1 pair. To my surprise, the expo was very different. There were only a couple of corn snakes, and they were just the super high end ones that I had no interest in. Before leaving, I thought to myself that if I had the money, I might pick up just a normal ball as well. With the candy cane plan shot, I began looking at all of the different ball python morphs. When I first looked into ball python morphs, I was really turned off because, compared to corn snakes, all of the morphs I looked at were really similar. Now, I have no idea what I looked at, because now I love all of the different morphs xD
Anyways, I decided that since I had a hundred on me for the corn snakes, that I'd get a more interesting looking bp. I looked at several booths but was drawn to the Priceless Pythons table. All of the snakes were out of my price range aside from a male pastel. Looking at all of them, Leopold had the brightest yellow (with hints of orange) and he became the one I took home. Since then, my interest in ball pythons has continued to grow. He may be one of the cheapest morphs, but Leopold II is precious to me and is such a character. Even when I eventually attain the more expensive and extravagant morphs, he will always be my favorite. I also have to say, I've looked at a lot of pastels, and rarely see any as bright as him. So kudos to Priceless Pythons!

Here is a pic I just took of my silly boy(please excuse the crappy phone pic)

I've had Pandora for a while now. She's pretty small at almost a year old, under 200 grams. When I got her a couple of months ago she had been getting a mouse hopper every two weeks. I moved her up to weekly, then an adult mouse, then two. She finally pooped... She's been doing well, but still hunting for a bit after the second mouse. So last week instead of going to the pet store, I went to a local guy to get mice He suggested I switch to rats so she would have the nutrition to grow. On his advice, I got an adult mouse and a rat that was just a tiny bit bigger. I brought them home in the same carrier and fed the mouse first. Pandora loved the rat and for the first time wasn't still hunting for more. She pooped, peed, passed urates, and had a lovely complete shed on the one week mark, so it's been 11 days.

Today I went and got 2 little rats, adult mouse size. Pandora struck at the first one as soon as I dropped it in her tank, and ate it. I waited until she was done swallowing and started moving around again, then dropped the second one in. Again she immediately struck and coiled. When the rat seemed dead enough to not be a problem I turned my attention to something else, so I'm not exactly sure what happened next... but it seemed like she was starting to eat it. Maybe not, she was still pretty coiled up. Anyway, she huung n for a bit

Hi all! I'd just like to introduce us to the group! My 8 year old son Ashton has shown a keen interest in reptiles for years, and has been asking for a Ball Python for quite awhile. I finally caved and after doing a bit of research decided to take the plunge. We picked our new family member Camo up almost two weeks ago and has taken well to his new home. Although I make sure everything is in good order, my son is very actively involved, and has shown no signs of getting bored with caring for Camo. Like we read and expected, he/she is very well tempered and mellow. We have fed it twice, and both times took F/T rat pups instantly!

We have no idea exactly how old he is, but I weighed him today and he came in at 126g. I'm figuring I will keep him on a rat pup every 4-5 days for the time being unless there is a reason not to. He sure seems to be thriving. My GF bought one for her 16 year old son at the same time, and it's alot smaller, and quite alot thinner. It wrinkles when it turns sharp and we're a little concerned. It is eating well though, and has taken food twice, although she is feeding fuzzies. She's concerned he's too small for a pup. Any opinions?

Anyways, I'd post a few pics, but it says I cannot post attachments......):

My barista and I were discussing our snakes, and I found out her female has been having some rather strange behavior.. I thought I'd get y'all's opinion for her.
Her snake, Ka.. Kah... Not sure how to spell it.. is a normal adult female BP. She has recently been moved into a larger tank (I'm afraid I don't have the dimensions) and has now become quite aggressive / fidgety. She is 5ft and still has hides. Her tank is now on the floor as opposed to once being on something, and Stephanie's mother suggested that maybe the vibrations that carry over from the neighboring apartment's kids through the floor may be upsetting the snake? Ka also had a rather stranger incident two days ago where she bit onto, wrapped around, and started to ingest a towel. Stephanie could not pry her off for anything, and, not knowing what to do, ended up pouring a little ice water on her head, which made her slowly back off it- after having already gotten a few inches down her throat.

Any opinions on what's going on here?

On a slightly unrelated note, how can I tell the difference between my baby bumble not having the skills to smoothly take down a mouse, and him maybe having a big of that spider "wobble" during feeding time? He's never latched onto a mouse in one go yet- usually misses a time or two. He doesn't show wobbling at any other time and doesn't seem to tremble when he's zoning in on the mouse; just bad aim.
